School Tours

What better way to learn history than through historical objects? The museum is happy to welcome school-age children to tour the museum. The tour includes an expert docent, hands-on activities, and a fun scavenger hunt to keep students engaged and learning. Call the museum to reserve a time! $2 per student, $4 per adult, for every 10 children, 1 adult goes for free.

Step-on Bus Tours

This is the most popular tour requested by visitors to Bastrop. Guests arrive on a tour bus, a guide furnished by BCHS gets on the bus and tells the tour group the history of Bastrop’s early families and buildings as the driver drives through the Historic District. The charge for a step-on tour guide is $50.00 for set-up and $10 per person with an 8-person minimum. This tour generally takes 45 minutes.

Historic Home Tour

Arrangements are made with a local homeowner to tour a historic home. This tour generally lasts 30-45 minutes.  Call 512-303-0057 for pricing information.

Historic Church Tour

Arrangements are made with a historic church to have a docent-led tour. 

Cost is $100.00 for set-up and $10 per person.

Historic District Walking Tour

A representative of BCHS will take participants on a tour of the historic district.  

Cost is $50.00 for set-up and $10.00 per person with a maximum of 10 people.

Docent-Led Group Museum Tour

Docent-led tours are available for $10 per person for large groups. Price includes admission to the museum.
