Yesterfest 2025: Celebrating Bastrop's Pioneer Spirit!
Get ready for a journey back in time as Yesterfest 2024 returns to Historic Downtown Bastrop on Friday night, May 24th, and all-day Saturday, May 25th. This beloved event celebrates the pioneer spirit of Bastrop with historical re-enactors and demonstrations, acoustic bands, craft vendors, and engaging activities for children and families. The event is free to visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of yesteryear in the authentic setting of “the most historic small town in Texas.”
Friday night kicks off the festivities with the Yesterfest Beard & Moustache Competition at 602 Brewing Company, 919 Main Street, from 8 to 11 p.m. For those 18 years or older, there will be prizes in several categories. For more information and to enter the contest, visit the forms below.
The excitement continues with three stages featuring talented acoustic bands and storytellers performing throughout the day, and with historical re-enactors showcasing life in Bastrop County during the pioneer era. Visitors can witness skills pioneers needed, like blacksmithing, butter-churning and broom-making among other demonstrations. Also, an old-fashioned bowling alley set up in a tented saloon demonstrates one of many entertaining activities that engaged early pioneers. A Native American drum circle and tepee will draw and engage spectators. Children can enjoy a range of fun activities, including arts and crafts, games, and storytelling sessions that bring history to life in a kid-friendly way.
